What we stand for
The constitution grounds the Alliance in democratic socialism, equality, social ownership, workers' rights, Te Tiriti, environmental protection, and international solidarity.
Our Constitution
The Alliance Constitution sets out our principles, democratic structures, and obligations to members across Aotearoa New Zealand.
Our constitution is not a formality. It is the document that says who controls the party, how decisions are made, and what principles guide our work.
The Alliance is a party of the left with policies based on socialist principles of democracy, equality and social ownership. Our constitution protects that purpose by putting members, branches, and Conference at the centre of party life.
It also makes clear that electoral politics is only one part of the work. The Alliance exists to organise, campaign, and build a mass democratic party for working people, inside and outside Parliament.
